Diving in the Caribbean
Diving is one of the activities much requested by tourists who visit the Caribbean, where they can find the most exciting experiences.

ANTIGUA.- The most popular diving sites in Antigua are The Chimney, Thunderhead and Sunken Rock. Atlantis Seatrec offers trips on board vessels to the coral reef and a plan of immersions ARUBA.- Sunken ships can be visited in the very site of the wreck, dating back to the Second World War, with a visibility in some cases of up to 100 feet. VIRGIN ISLANDS.- Santa Cruz is a very valuable diving point since it gathers all the Caribbean diving offer, beaches, cliffs, reefs, sunken ships and even night diving. In Buck Island reef, there are signs and arrows which guide snorkelers through coral reefs. Davis Bay where the dip of 12,000 feet of Puerto Rico Trench is found, the fifth deepest in the world. From Cancun, visits are offered in underwater vessels as the Nautibus, a sort of floating submarine where expectators who are in the submerged side can admire coral reefs and the fauna of tropical fish. Also from the marine park Aqua World a trip is offered in the Sub Explorer, an ideal facility to use a camera. COLOMBIA.- Cartagena is a paradise for divers who want to see sunken ships and reefs. You can obtain information and equipment at Caribe Hotel or Club Nautico Manga. Other interesting spots for diving are: St. Andrews Islands and Providence, facing the coast of Panama or Carpurganá Bay, where the natural reserve of Katios Park is found, a site of great ecological significance. FLORIDA.- Kissimmee Professional Diving Center is found here, truly big diving warehouses. Equipment sale and hiring, trainers, guides and trips scheduled for the whole week. There are natural parks as Biscayne National Park with 181,000 acres of underwater world. DOMINICA.- Priority fishing areas are identified, artificial coral reefs, fish raising and diving centers. There are three diving operators in the island who are entitled to issue certificates. GUATEMALA.- A small tip of Guatemala can be seen in the Caribbean, offering a fully distinct panorama of what is known in the Antilles. There are different diving spots in the continental ports as Livingstone or Belize Cays. In this site were made an artificial coral reef in 1984, using what remained from sunken ships. JAMAICA.- The Jamaican Association of Dive Operators (JADO) organizes professional diving trips also equipped with trainers for beginners. There are special programs for underwater fishing of blue marlin fish on board a charter boat, which can be hired in hotels or in local marinas during the whole year. For professionals of this type of fishing, three main championships are held every autumn. VENEZUELA.- There are two National Parks considered jewels in the Caribbean coast of Venezuela. One is the Los Roques Archipelago, located in the very line of Curaçao and Aruba islands. It is a large coral complex and a magnificent ecosystem where swimming is allowed as well as snorkeling and underwater activities, though only in the area comprising Primitiva Marina or Recreation, preserving the rest for the Marine Biology Station. The other one is Morrocoy Park, located farther east, in an cove of the coast between Chichiviriche and Tucacas, cities where you can profit from Agua Fun Diving and Frogman.
