Eduardo Arrocha has received the Premio Nacional de Teatro (National Theater Award) and the Premio Nacional de Diseño (National Design Award), which endorse and recognize the creativity and intelligence, the industriousness and the prodigious imagination of this illustrious son of the town of Guanabacoa, where he was born on May 17, 1934.
Educated in the legendary Academy of San Alejandro, he was a disciple of René Portocarrero and Rubén Vigón. The latter discovered his talent for stage design, marking the course that his fertile life would take.
 Arrocha has designed more than four hundred works for theater, film and dance. In this last specialty he has sounded off; so much so that Jesús Ruiz expressed: «... the image of Cuban contemporary dance is the product of this designer's imagination, unparalleled in our theatrical history». he town of Guanabacoa, where he was born on May 17, 1934.
