Amid fierce competition that illustrates the Mexican art market, genres of Cuban popular music always have presence.
This 2019 brings a powerful event sponsored, among other companies, by Ocesa, which is the leader in the public entertainment sector in the country. This is the International Salsa Festival, dedicated to Cuba, with two musical marathons, one at the Yucatan Coliseum in Mérida on March 22nd and the other the next day at the Sports Palace in Mexico City.
From among twenty of the best dance music orchestras of the island, seven were selected to give flavour to this event, which is expected to continue to be held annually: Los Van Van, Havana D'Primera, Isaac Delgado y su Orquesta, Adalberto Álvarez y su Son, Maykel Blanco y su Salsa Mayor, and Anacaona, the Cuban women's orchestra.
