LETTERS OF CREDENCE
In a solemn audience held on November 3, 2004, Juan Almeida Bosque, Vice President of the Council of State, accompanied by Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, received the letters of credence from the hands of the new ambassadors of Great Britain, Jamaica, Algeria and Malawi to Cuba. At the end of this official ceremony, the top diplomats and their entourages laid flower wreaths at the Jose Marti Memorial in Havana.
Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain His Excellency John Anthony Dew, extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, was accompanied by Ms. Janet Sullivan, First Secretary, and Melaine Hopkins, Second Secretary. For the Cuban part, Angel Reigosa de la Cruz and Mario Garcia Delgado, director and deputy director of protocol activities, respectively, also attended the ceremony. Gerardo Marrero Garate and Mayor Esmerido Ramirez Peña, Chief of Staff of the Military House, were also present.
Ambassador of Algeria His Excellency Ahcene Kerma, extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the People’s and Democratic Republic of Algeria, was accompanied by Consular Minister Lahcene Bessikri, Third Secretary Hakim Takouk and Attachés Djamel Amara and Rafik Zousoui. For the Cuban part, the ceremony was attended by Protocol Director Angel Reigosa de la Cruz, Antonio Rodriguez Valcarcel, chief of the Ceremonial Department, Protocol Officer Faustino Madrazo Madrazo, and Lt. Col. Miguel Angel Espinosa Merencio, Chief of the Military House.
Ambassadress of Jamaica Her Excellency Elinor Marguerite Sherlock, extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Jamaica, was accompanied by A'dale Robinson, counselor, and Attaché Delita Elizabeth McCallum. The Cuban part was represented by Angel Reigosa de la Cruz and Guillermo Batista Álvarez, director and deputy director of protocol, respectively, as well as Attaché Miriam Acosta Concepcionand Lt. Col. Carlos Perez Gonzalez, Chief of the Military House.
Ambassador of Malawi His Excellency Kennedy Amos Malisita, extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Republic of Malawi, was accompanied by Protocol Director Angel Reigosa de la Cruz; Andres Gonzalez Garrido, chief of the Protocol Programming and Attachés Department, as well as Captain Braulio Hernandez Martinez, Chief of Staff of the Military House.
