The works of this renowned painter and sculptor, marked by a human, professional and artistic touch, are things Panama is so very proud of

Born in the province of Herrera, her childhood was underscored by the arts, thanks to her mother's hand, the one person who passed on to her the very first experiences as a designer, and her father, who helped her whip the gift of reaching into her life.

Her artworks carry a special sensitivity toward life, happiness, peace of mind and a vision of the world from a completely human standpoint, so refreshing in times of automation and cutting-edge technology. She graduated from the National School of Fine Arts at the National Cultural Institute. She landed a scholarship in the San Carlos Academy at the Mexico Autonomous University, where he walked out with a Master Degree in Painting. Later on she moved to Paris's La Sorbonne to get her doctorate.

A scholarship offered by the U.S. government gave her a chance to visit museums, art galleries and colleges in that vast nation.

THERAPY AND REHAB THROUGH THE ARTS During her study tenure in Mexico, she had the opportunity of working with schizophrenic patients. Up in the U.S., she visited centers that included the arts as part of their rehabilitation programs. She effectively bore out the healing powers of the arts and painting for the human soul. A few years later, that experience opened up for her a window of opportunity to treat saddened and abandoned children.

HER ARTISTIC CREATION The artist gives away a new pictorial universe, boasting a mighty blend of hues, textures and harmony that gives way to the inner world we all carry under the skin and that emerges in her collection entitled "Touches of Life," inspired in the beauty of the human body.

EXHIBITS UNESCO HQs in France's Paris, the Andres Bello Foundation in Colombia's Bogota, the Madrid Tech Institute and the Catalonian Institute of Iberian American Cooperation in Spain. She's also presented her works of art in a number of galleries in the U.S., Costa Rica, Mexico and Panama.
