The surprises of Mexico City do not cease. It happens every year in Zona Maco, the contemporary art fair that brings together artists, gallery owners, collectors, curators and lovers of good, classic or risky proposals from around the world.
Now in 2017, the Banamex México fairgrounds will host the event between February 8th and 12th. In the ample halls of the installation, hundreds of international galleries will compete with their pieces to attract the eyes of the thousands of attendees that every year will find out how artists re- / create our world.
This is a very much consolidated fair in the American artistic circuit by virtue of the convening power and the height of its catalogs. Next year the event will multiply its offerings in several sections, thanks to the expert committee conducting careful curating work in time.
The more than 35,000 attendees expected to host Zona Maco 2017 will have at their disposal conferences, public meetings with artists and curators, as well as other activities in open spaces, museums, art galleries and institutions of cultural profile.
Zona Maco looks at the world without losing the identity of the region, which is why, from home, it favors the visibility of Mexican and Latin American artists who, in showing themselves in such a showcase, underpin their well-deserved international recognition.
