The image of Latin American integration has one of its greatest representations in the impressive mural that may be seen by any traveler passing through the beautiful city of Concepción, in Chile.
The mural Presencia de América Latina (Presence of Latin America) is today an expression of the cultural mosaic that we Latin Americans are.
As a fruit of that solidarity that awakes under difficult moments, there stands this immense mural of three hundred square meters, started in November of 1964 and finished in April of 1965. The work, presented by the Mexican government after the great earthquake in Chile, was commissioned to Mexican painter Jorge González Camarena.
In Concepción there is a mural of all, ours, of those of us who love this land that rather than mere soil is Patria Grande (Our Big Fatherland).
