Mexicans, An Authentic Pot of Cultures There are a total of 56 different ethnic groups in Mexico among whom the most outstanding ones are the Chinanteco, Maya, Mazahua, Mazateco, Tzotzile or Nahua, whose pot of cultures and folklore will captivate and fascinate visitors beyond doubt. Mexicans are nice people, open, impulsive, generous, but especially, they are extremely hospitable. Activity and vitality are the identity characteristics that distinguish Mexicans. The origin of this characteristic way of being is the mestizaje (blend of races) between the indigenous population and the first Spaniards, between the Criollos (descendants of Europeans born in the new land) and the indigenous population and between the Criollos and Spaniards.

Mexican Decorated Horse Riders Excellent herdsmen, romantic and conservative. They adore women, remain enrooted in their land, entirely dedicated to their horses. They enjoy eating and drinking with enthusiasm. Sometimes they are vain and spend a fortune in their splendid outfits particularly in their traditional Mexican hat. They are the charros, a typical Mexican figure that along with mariachis have become a true symbol of Mexico.

Indigenous Population with A History Seri, Cora, Tarasco or Huichol are some of the indigenous ethnic groups with more tradition in the interior regions of Mexico. The Seri-who "live in the sand"- one of the less numerous indigenous groups living in the country who used to live before in the Arizona's Sonoran Desert, along the shore and on Tiburón Island. Cora is another deeply-enrooted ethnic group whose culture is also a part of the amazing history of Mexico. The indigenous ceremonies held by the Huichol of the steep eastern Sierra Madre on northern Jalisco are a window unto the pre-Hispanic past of Mexico. Its rites, costumes and ceremonies are one of the most attractive of the country and are celebrated in a tuki or circular temple located in some centric site.

Popular Craft, Tradition and Folklore Mexico is abundant in popular traditions and folklore held each time of the year along with the different artistic expressions that make up the colorful cultural picture of the country. Around 5,000 colorful original festivities and ceremonies are held. Mexican craft is especially nice. Mexican silver, famous all over the world, yields a wide array of items, jewels and delicate decorations.
