A magic . Flora Fong

Regarded as one of the most significant artist of contemporaneous plastic arts.

Regarded as one of the most significant artist of contemporaneous plastic arts, Flora Fong-a daughter born from a Chinese father and a Creole mother-resumes in her daily work the wonderful Caribbean world and the Asian mystery with a vast assortment of shades which provide her canvas with a special enchantment. In painting as well as in drawings, ceramics, stained glasses, design for fabrics and even in manufacturing paper kites with a Chinese technical approach, she reflects the strong tropical light in the midst of lines and combinations, full of seduction and findings. From a full color display to chromatic shades and the simplification of elements, from white to yellow and green (where the Chinese penmanship loses its outline, so present in previous drawings) to the search of other motivations, Flora Fong adds new proposals where artistic maturity excels.

MIGHTY POWER "For me, the sea is a mighty power, only compared to the energy that one translates into strokes and gestures on the canvas, for example when you look at a wave, and I tried to capture it and portrait it to convey this message to the others so that they feel identified with the painting." "Cuba? From the island I see the world and it is the place where I like to paint. The light found in every corner of the Caribbean turns into something wonderful for anyone, not just for a painter. This light irradiates in such a way that makes things to lose their shapes. It is precisely this what I want to accomplish now in my proposal."
