Last September 14, it was ninety years after the tragic accident that ended the life of the creator of modern dance. A tragic chain of events killed the so-called "pioneer of contemporary dance". "The curse of machines," she used to say when referring to automobiles: and in one she met death.
That night, in September 1927, Isadora went for a ride in Nice with her lover at the time: the young Italian mechanic Benoit Falchetto. Next day, the New York Times described the event: "As the car was speeding, the strong silk scarf around her neck began to roll around the wheel, dragging Mrs. Duncan."
Isadora Duncan was cremated. Her ashes are in the Père-Lachaise cemetery in Paris.
