The Ignacio Piñeiro Company fosters artistic talent, a harbinger of Cuban traditional music in and out of the Caribbean island

Since 1978, Cuba’s Ignacio Piñeiro artistic company, a marketing enterprise of music and musical shows, has been recovering and fostering the most genuine values of Cuban traditional music.
It treasures an internationally-recognized catalog made up of bands from a variety of genres and instrumental formats, in which a number of boldface names that have always cultivated Cuban popular music stands out. Some cases in point are Orquesta Aragón, Gloria Matancera, Los Papines, Orquesta Enrique Jorrín –creator of Cha-Cha- Compay Segundo, Septeto Habanero, the Clave y Guaguancó folkloric troupe, celebrated crooner Beatriz Márquez, among many others.
In the same breath, the company represents a new breed of talents whose contemporary songs and sounds cling to the basics of rhythms and styles of Cuban traditional music. Some examples are the Timbalaye folkloric group, recipient of the CUBADISCO 2014 Award; Lázaro Valdés y Son Jazz, who merges Son and Jazz; the all-female Ricachá and Habaneras con Tumbao, and Gente D´Zona, a Cuban reggaeton vocal band than grabbed a Latin Grammy Award last year.
