Last May 14, as part of an agreement-signing ceremony with the government of Qatar, the Ministry of Industry and Trade offered a lunch in Panama City Club attended by His Excellency Martin Torrijos, President of the Republic of Panama, Qatar's Energy Deputy Prime Minister of Qatar, Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, on behalf of Qatar Petroleum, as well as John Morgan, Gas & Petroleum Director at the Occidental Petroleum Co. (Oxy).

Baby Shower Lynnette Donoso de Fistonich
The baby shower held at the Panama City Club to honor our friend Lyennette Donoso de Fistonich -now expecting her first child, a baby girl to ba named Ana Paula- coulnd't just pan out to be any better. The love feast took place on June 7 and gathered some boldface names from Panama's high life, mostly female companions who shared a lovely afternoon with Lynnette and toasted to the upcoming birth.
Benalcazar Panama's Naturalist Intimacy
A tropical landscape painter who splays lavish foliage and water's overpowering presence in cold-hearted colors -as if he were trying to chase away the sweltering heat that overwhelms him- and manages to paint women ingrained in trees as a constant reference to Mother Nature, Alexis Benalcazar is a challenger who invites people to picture Panama in their minds. Alexis Benalcazar has taken part in over 45 collective exhibits and 26 individual expositions. His works of arts are displayed in the U.S., Switzerland, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Uruguay, France, UK, Belgium and Spain, among other nations. He came out the runner-up in the 2001 INAC National Painting Contest and grabbed an honorary mention back in 2002.
